WaveYarnIt is made by twisting one low-count decorative yarn with two core yarns or core threads of different colors and different counts at once. To enhance the color effect and fluffiness of the yarn, one low-count decorative yarn can also be twisted with more than two core yarns at once.

When yarns of different thicknesses are twisted together, the balance of twist and the redistribution of twist among the yarns differ. Coarse yarns tend to untwist and become fluffy, while fine yarns wrap around the coarse yarns, forming a wavy surface.

Wavy yarn can be used to make warm fabrics. When wavy yarn is used to create scarf fabrics with a gauze structure, the decorative yarn is often made from high-twist, strong, coarse yarns twisted together, which saves processing costs and makes the surface of the decorative yarn smooth and wear-resistant. The core yarn is generally made from medium-twist yarns with counts between 32 and 42 to improve the strength of the finished product; the twist of the combined yarn is slightly lower to increase the fluffiness, softness, and warmth of the yarn and fabric.
